I have been a Registered Architect in the US (and a few other countries) over the past 35 years. They have a 45 day demo for download at: Drawings load fine, but when moving the mouse over objects, trails are left behind (a series of dots), and then it crashes the system back to the boot screen. Note: - Just discovered that DeltaCad 7 doesn't work reliably under wine doors in Isadora. So far it appears to work just fine for me, and I even installed the latest DeltaCad patch (via wine-doors) without any problems. Note: You will be required to enter the Authorization Code that was sent to you after you purchased the software during the 1st part of the installation.

The developers have been at this for over 10 years, and are very good at implementing user suggestions into major and minor releases.ġ) Install wine-doors via built-in software installer (enter wine in search box to find it).Ģ) Run wine-doors from Menu/System Tools/ģ) Select install from CD under File tab.Ĥ) You'll get an error about not finding the install file, ignore this and select the DeltaCad.exe file on the CD, then select RUN (during installation allow it to put a program shortcut on the desktop).ĥ) Right click on the desktop shortcut, select properties, select the permissions tab, check the box "allow executing file as program".Ħ) Double click the shortcut (which should now look like a green drafting square), and you should be up and running. It supports both import and export of DXF and DWG files. It isn't free (about $40), but it has got to be one of the easiest full featured 2D CAD programs I've ever used. I am running Mint 9 Isadora, and installed wine-doors via Mint's software installer to let me run the latest version of DeltaCad (version 7), which is a Windows program.
